Olive Leaves decrease bloog glucose levels
Some Studies revealed that olive leaves has hypoglycemic effect and can help in blood sugar management in diabetic patients.as in study in animals , the olive leaves give great effect in lowering blood glucose levels after 3 weeks . olive leaves is very safe to use after sterilization and grinding and if it used properly , it can help the diabetic patients to control high blood glucose levels . some studies suggest that the effect of olive leaves in lowering bloog glucose levelsis due to :
1-decrease absorption of glucose from intestine.
2-inhibition of alpha gluicosidase enzyme which decrease abosorption of
carbohydrates from intestine.
3-antioxidant effect of olive leaves and protection of pancreatic cells
and liver.
4-it has active constituent called oleuropeoside which has hypoglycemic
effect in dosage 16mg/kg.
5-increase insulin secretion.
Preparation & Dosage:
olive leaves used by put 20-30 gm powdered leaves in 500 ml boiling water for 20 minutes . the dosage is half cup three times daily half an hour before food.There is also capsules contain olive leaves extract.
